Installation – Setup – Uninstallation of an Air Conditioner
INSTALLATION – SETUP & UNINSTALLATION
A basic requirement for the efficient operation of an air conditioner is its installation by experienced technicians. Proper installation helps avoid potential mistakes that may lead to problems such as poor performance, excessive energy consumption, or even loss of the product warranty.
For the correct installation of an air conditioner, the following factors should be considered:
Indoor unit placement:
Ideally installed at a sufficient height so that the air circulates evenly throughout the room (e.g., about 1.8–2 meters from the floor). The airflow should not blow directly on people, and the unit should preferably be placed near the window side in a shaded area, not above another device or source that produces heat, in order to reduce temperature loss.
Outdoor unit placement:
It should be installed in a location with easy access for maintenance, at a short distance from the indoor unit (not more than 15 meters), and with the minimum required free space around the unit so it can ventilate properly. The direction of the discharged air should not be toward nearby windows, balcony doors, etc.
The outdoor unit should be securely mounted on a solid surface using anti-vibration rubber supports to prevent resonance and vibrations.
Piping:
The installation positions of the units determine the route and length of the refrigerant pipes, which ideally should be shorter than 8 meters so that the air conditioner’s performance is not affected. The technician responsible for the installation must also ensure the correct routing, protection, and insulation of the piping.
Drainage:
The drainage pipes should be made from suitable materials depending on the installation and should lead to a proper drainage point, such as a balcony drain or floor siphon.
